Typographical & Editorial Design Brief

Today we got the brief for the typography and editorial brief and I'm actually really looking forward to it!

The brief required us to design 2 double page spreads in response to the Society of Publication Designers 2013 Student Online Competition. We had to choose from 1 of 5 categories to base our spread on, from an entertainment magazine, regional/city magazine, a how-to magazine, an innovations magazine or a sports/adventure magazine. I chose to base mine on the Entertainment magazine.

The criteria for this brief was to target college students and the young professionals interested in music, film and arts.  The headline must be the band, musician or person I wish to portray my spread on, with the subheading of 'finally opens up and tells how he/she/they plan(s) to stay on top. At this point at the very beginning of the project I don't quite know who I'm going to base it on yet!

STRENGTHS: I feel more experienced on inDesign now so hopefully that will help my work!

WEAKNESSES: Not doing too well with organising myself, tend to leave things until last minute!

OPPORTUNITIES: Using time planners effectively and sticking to them will help me stay organised.

THREATS: No adobe software at home, therefore will only be able to put ideas together during college hours

TIME PLAN:
